New team leading Foundation

In July, Te Papa welcomed Devorah Blumberg to the Executive Leadership Team of Te Papa, taking up the newly created role of Director, Partnerships & Development. This role is responsible for leading Te Papa’s strategic approach to philanthropy, partnerships, sponsorships, business development, and international and domestic touring exhibitions.

“Joining Te Papa is a career highlight. It is a huge privilege to take on a role that forges the crucial bridge between Te Papa and its donors, connecting worthy initiatives with much-needed funding, recognition and support.”

Devorah brings to Te Papa a wealth of skills and experience, with an impressive resume spanning major events, tourism and central government. Her most recent role was Head of Programming & Commercial with New Zealand at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Rebecca Galloway, a veteran arts manager with 20 years’ experience in New Zealand, the United States and Canada, stepped into the role of Te Papa Foundation Manager in January.

“This is a dream role for me,” Rebecca says, "I started my career in the museum sector and I'm thrilled to be coming full circle. To be working in support of a national institution that is pushing the envelope internationally in terms of museology, diversity and innovation is a real joy." She plans on further developing the public profile of the Foundation and working to deepen its connection to the museum itself.

Rebecca comes to Te Papa from New Zealand Opera, where she was Director Marketing & Development. She is a former RNZ Concert commentator, has written extensively about arts and culture both here and abroad, and currently sits on the board of Footnote New Zealand Dance.

You can reach Rebecca on 021 401 907 or rebecca.galloway@tepapafoundation.org.nz – she is eager to meet our Foundation supporters and donors over the coming months so don’t hesitate to connect.
